What you need to know about the Highfield Level 3 End-Point Assessment for Custody and Detention Officer
Who is this Standard for?
This apprenticeship is for individuals working within a secure environment such as prisons, detention centres and custodial establishments. As a Custody and Detention Officer apprentice, your role will require you to work with a variety of people who have different needs and display varied behaviour. It is your role to work to ensure those individuals are treated with dignity and respect and helped to find a new way of life while maintaining a safe, secure and structured environment. You will also play a key role in the rehabilitation of those in your care, acting to build commitment to change to reduce reoffending and to coach people in skills such as problem-solving and the management of emotions.
This is a level 3 apprenticeship standard that has a minimum duration of 12 months. Apprentices will be placed in a suitable role and supported by a tutor to achieve the standards and level 2 maths and English qualifications.
Apprentices who started their apprenticeship on or after 08/05/2018 will be assessed against ST0386/AP01
