What you need to know about the Highfield Level 2 End-Point Assessment for Early Years Practitioner

Who is this standard for?

The early years practitioner (EYP) interacts directly with children on a day-to-day basis. They support the planning of and delivery of activities, purposeful play opportunities and educational programmes within an early years setting for children from birth to 5 years in both indoor and outdoor environments. These can include, full day care, children’s centres, pre-schools, reception classes, playgroups, nursery schools, home-based provision, hospitals, social care settings, out of school environments and local authority provision.

Programme structure

This is a level 2 apprenticeship that has a typical duration of 12 months. Apprentices will be placed in a suitable role and supported by a tutor to achieve Level 1 maths and English and the Level 2 Early Years Practitioner Qualification.

Assessment Plan

Apprentices will be assessed against ST0888/AP01.

End-Point Assessment methods:

·          - Knowledge Test

·          - Professional Discussion underpinned by the Portfolio of Evidence
