Coaching Professional Apprenticeship Standard


Who is this Standard for?

This apprenticeship is for individuals working with a wide range of individuals and teams across organisations, to empower and engage with them to enhance their professional performance. In their daily work, an employee in this occupation interacts with coachees as their primary contact, bringing a fresh, independent perspective to support the individual/team/organisation with the development of its people.

Upon completion of this apprenticeship, successful apprentices will meet the requirements for registration as a Coaching Professional with one of the following professional bodies:

  • The European Mentoring and Coaching Council
  • The Association for Coaching
  • The International Coach Federation

Programme structure
This is a level 5 apprenticeship standard that has a typical duration of 14 months. Apprentices will be placed in a suitable role and supported by a tutor to achieve the standards and Level 2 maths and English qualifications.

Assessment Plan

Apprentices who started their apprenticeship on or after 13/05/2020 will be assessed against ST0809/AP01

End-Point Assessment methods:

  • Observation with Q&A
  • Interview supported by a portfolio of evidence
  • Knowledge test
